Across Africa and the world, companies trust us to manage their connectivity. We take this responsibility seriously.

To be clear, nothing is 100% secure and anyone who guarantees 100% security is making a promise they can’t keep. Banks, government computers, and corporations that spend billions on security can be compromised by highly motivated individuals.
What we can promise is that we take all reasonable precautions to keep your data safe. We’ve implemented best practices and tooling to audit our own code and infrastructure. We default to security first practices with our infrastructure and leverage cloud based providers and local data centers for infrastructure. Our applications, supporting infrastructure and database servers are not exposed directly to the Internet. Firewalls are implemented at multiple levels.
Infrastructure is monitored by our cloud provider and data center providers, with interior and exterior surveillance monitoring. Access to the local data center and hardware racks is restricted by bio-metric access to authorized Flickswitch employees. 24/7/365 onsite staff provides additional protection against unauthorized entry and security breaches.
We protect your data
All customer and SIM data is written to multiple databases and backed up daily with continuous snapshots. The databases are hosted in multiple locations. SIMcontrol runs on highly available cloud infrastructure with multiple redundant points of presence across Cape Town and Johannesburg, as well as multi-zone hosting in Google Cloud Platform (Belgium) and AWS (Ireland and South Africa). This ensures resilience and prevents single points of failure.
Whenever your data is in transit between you and SIMcontrol, it is fully encrypted and sent using HTTPS. Operational data such as SIM states, usage, and account records remain active in our databases, while all backups are encrypted.
From power and cooling to internet connectivity and server infrastructure, SIMcontrol is built for redundancy. Our systems are engineered to stay up even if multiple servers or connections fail, ensuring uninterrupted SIM management and connectivity services.
Our hosting providers operate state-of-the-art data centers with strict physical security, including biometric access controls, round-the-clock monitoring, and 24/7/365 onsite personnel. Only authorized staff can access facilities, adding additional protection against unauthorized entry or breaches.
Our platforms are patched regularly with the latest security updates. SIMcontrol runs in dedicated, firewalled environments that are continuously monitored. We actively scan and test our software and infrastructure to keep ahead of emerging threats and best practices in telecom and cloud security.
All payment transactions are processed using strong encryption, equivalent to the standards used by leading banks. Cardholder information is transmitted, and processed securely within PCI-compliant systems. We do not store your credit card information.
All user actions are audit logged and displayed to you so that you have a complete picture of who took what action on your account. These audit logs include timestamps, ip addresses and the user performing the action. We retain audit logs for a minimum period of 18 months. All our staff have extra audit logging applied to their actions when dealing with customer accounts.
For over a decade, SIMcontrol has been trusted by enterprises, IoT providers, and service partners to manage and scale large SIM fleets. Security and reliability are at the core of our mission. Our longevity and proven stability are central to the trust placed in us by organizations across industries.
Keeping customer data safe and secure is a huge responsibility and a top priority. We work hard to protect our customers from the latest threats. Your input and feedback on our security is always appreciated.
